Specialties
Specialties and Positions
Summary
The Company plays many roles and has many positions to fill. Listed below are several positions that are actively recruited, this is not, however, a set and definitive list. If you have a character who specializes in something not listed here which you feel would be an asset to the Company, please feel free to contact the mods. Characters can have more than one specialty and we do encourage well-rounded characters, but try to be realistic and keep the number of specialties any one character has within reason. Some employees will spend most of their time at the Treasury while others are most often found in the field, all employees will spend time both in the field and helping with the Treasury.
Mandatory Treasury Work
Divided into the Library, the Archives and the Repository comprises all the writings and artifacts collected by the Company. There are a few employees who specialize in managing and overseeing sections of the Treasury, all employees are expected to devote at least some of their time to the Treasury. During brief pauses between missions, their contribution may be as little as providing a written recounting of their latest excavation. Employees who take more than two weeks between missions will be expected to dedicate extra time to the Treasury, they will be free to pick whichever branch interests them most.
Archives
In the Archives, employees help organize incoming field missions reports and record recently discovered and collected items. Archive employees research items, compile histories and work to restore any damaged or aged items.
Library
The Company boasts an impressive collection of historical books, both modern and ancient. Library employees are responsible for the upkeep of the library and have an ongoing mission to create a digital copy of every book in their collection, both for ease of access and for preservation.
Repository
All items collected by the Company are archived in in the Repository. While the front is set up as a museum for employees and the elite few who are invited to the mansion. The back is a vaulted warehouse which is enchanted with several containment wards where the more dangerous and untested artifacts are kept.
Archaeologists
The most common specialty of employees, Archaeologists specialize in parts of history so that they can more effectively locate and excavate artifacts.
Sensitives
While the gift is rare, Sensitives are highly sought after. In tune with the supernatural, able to sense danger and power in objects, Sensitives study their field and assist Archeologists when dealing with situations not entirely of this world.
Journalists
The flow and control of information is crucial to protecting the secret of the supernatural. For this reason, the Company keeps several employees who have media training on staff. Those who are able to spin a convincing story to fool the press or use their skill with a camera to document excavations and discoveries have proved an invaluable addition to the team.
Linguists
Employees who speak more than one language or specialize in reading dead languages are highly valued among the Company, which has branches all over the world.
Operation Specialists
Overseeing everything from answering phones, keeping track of the various members of their assigned House, doing pre-security, these jacks of all trades are more than simple receptionists. All have safety, combat, and media training, as well as being well versed in crisis management techniques. Many are linguists in their own right or have training in museum curating. They keep the Houses organized, see that day to day operations are carried out and keep just generally keep chaos at bay.
Medical Staff
Doctors, nurses, surgeons, field medics and medical researchers are all vital assets to the Company, given the amount of danger Company agents face on a monthly basis. The Company boasts state of the art labs and fills them with the best medical minds money can hire.
Security
The Society houses countless priceless artifacts, excavates and transports more back to the Treasury, so security is a crucial part of business. Security are highly trained, equipped with communication technology, weaponry, both lethal and non-lethal, and some of the top training in the world. Security offers guard items, protect archeologists and specialists and generally ensure that all is calm on the Western front.
